GDS Recognized for Leadership Development
October 17, 2011
For the seventh consecutive year, Guttman Development Strategies, Inc. (GDS) has been selected by Leadership Excellence magazine (LE) as one of the top consulting firms in leadership development.
The magazine's "2011 Leadership 500" selections were announced in a special supplement to the October issue. According to LE CEO and Editor-in-Chief Ken Shelton, "This year, we increased the number of programs ranked, more than doubling the number listed last year. We connected with over 1,000 organizations known for an emphasis on developing leaders and selected 500 in seven categories." GDS was ranked #8 in the category of independent consultants/trainers/coaches.
"All of us at GDS are extremely gratified by this honor," commented Howard M. Guttman, founder and principal of GDS. "In these tough economic times, leadership excellence is more critical than ever. During the past year, we have stepped up our efforts to develop high-performance leaders in two ways. We continue to contribute to the field of leadership development by writing for LE and other publications that provide a platform for thought leadership. And, in our consulting work around the world, we've helped leaders and their teams to achieve higher levels of performance and to transition from a hierarchical to a horizontal way of operating."
Commenting on the future, Guttman added, "As we look ahead, GDS plans to significantly increase its research efforts and consulting services to enable leaders to better meet the global business challenges facing them."
